Minister of Defence Carl Haglund visits Poland

Minister of Defence Carl Haglund will make an official visit to Poland on the 7th of February 2014. The visit will be hosted by Poland?s Minister of National Defence Tomasz Siemoniak who visited Finland on 3 April 2013.

The ministers are going to discuss bilateral defence cooperation, participation in international crisis-management operations, the EU?s Common Security and Defence Policy related themes, and perspectives on developing regional defence cooperation in Northern Europe and Central Europe. In addition, the ministers are going to sign a Poland-Finland Framework Agreement.

During his working visit Minister Haglund is going to visit the Mannerheim memorial, which is a granite rock placed in the churchyard of the Lancer Regiment that Mannerheim led. The church is located close to the royal ?azienki park. A wreath-laying ceremony will be arranged at the memorial.
