The Ministry of Defence prepares the acts and Presidential, Government and Ministry of Defence decrees that govern the nation's military defence.
The subjects covered by these acts and decrees have included the following: conscription, readiness for exceptional circumstances (state of defence), voluntary military service for women, territorial surveillance, composition and tasks of the Defence Forces, police duties in the Defence Forces, international peacekeeping, export and transit of defence materiel, military training and health care in the Defence Forces.
The Ministry of Defence also contributes to the drafting of legislation in other ministries in cases where there are points of relevance to the Defence Administration.
Reports and working group suggestions from the Ministry of Defence undergo a round of comments from different parties. Feedback can be submitted by parties other than those to whom the request for statements is distributed.
