Finland to deliver more defence materiel assistance to Ukraine
On the proposal of the Government, the President of the Republic decided on 1 September 2022 that Finland would send more defence materiel assistance to Ukraine. This will be the eighth delivery of assistance from Finland to Ukraine.
- Ukraine’s defence operation continues and there is still a great need for assistance. We will therefore send a new package of defence materiel, says Minister of Defence Antti Kaikkonen.
To ensure that the delivery reaches its destination, more detailed information on the content of the assistance, manner of delivery or schedule will not be provided.
Both Ukraine’s needs and the resources of the Defence Forces have been taken into account when deciding on Finland’s additional assistance.
Following Russia’s aggression, Ukraine has requested materiel assistance from the EU and NATO member countries.
