Finland to deliver more defence materiel assistance to Ukraine
Finland will deliver another package of defence materiel to Ukraine. The President of the Republic decided on the matter on 6 October 2022 on the proposal of the Government. This marks Finland’s ninth delivery of defence materiel assistance to Ukraine.
“Ukraine’s defensive operation is still ongoing. Unfortunately, it does not look like the war will be over anytime soon. Finland will continue its support to Ukraine,” says Minister of Defence Antti Kaikkonen.
To ensure that the delivery reaches its destination safely, more detailed information on the content of the assistance package, the manner of delivery or the schedule will not be provided.
Both Ukraine’s needs and the resources of the Defence Forces have been taken into account when deciding on the additional assistance.
Following Russia’s invasion, Ukraine has requested materiel assistance from the EU and NATO member countries.
