Minister of Defence Häkkänen to visit Singapore
Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen will pay a working visit to Singapore on 30-31 May.
Minister Häkkänen will attend the annual Shangri-La Dialogue security conference organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). During the conference, Minister of Defence Häkkänen will have several bilateral meetings with allied and partner countries.
"We will strengthen our relations with the Indo-Pacific partners. Their security is even more strongly linked to European security as a result of Russia's war of aggression and the deepening of the network of allies. We also see plenty of opportunities to further increase defence materiel cooperation," Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen says.
"My visit to Asia will take place during the weekend preceding the meeting of NATO's defence ministers, and it will provide an excellent opportunity to negotiate and discuss with our key allies and partners," Häkkänen says.
The agenda of the Shangri-La Dialogue security conference will focus on topical security and defence policy themes. As usual, the event will bring together defence ministers and military leaders from different countries.
