Ministry of Defence to conclude partnership agreement with Bittium Wireless Ltd.
Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen has authorised the Defence Forces to sign a partnership agreement with Bittium Wireless Ltd. for the period 2025-2036.
The partnership services procured under the partnership agreement concern the life cycle of the management systems manufactured by Bittium Wireless Ltd. for the Defence Forces.
- The agreement will safeguard the maintenance and life cycle services of the Defence Forces' critical command and control systems in all readiness conditions. We will create mechanisms for a joint planning of emergency operations. The agreement will also contribute to ensuring the management of national expertise and technologies critical to military security of supply in Finland, says Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen.
The value of the partnership agreement, without value added tax, depends on the equipment needs and funding of the Defence Forces' various projects. With the planned orders, the employment impact in Finland is estimated to be dozens of person-years while the actual employment impact depends on the value of annual procurements.
