Nordic defence ministers to meet in Rovaniemi
Finland's Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen will host a meeting of Nordic defence ministers in Rovaniemi in Finland's Lapland from 6 to 7 May 2025. Finland chairs the Nordic Defence Cooperation (NORDEFCO) in 2025.
"The agenda of the Nordic Defence Ministers' meeting is exceptionally heavy. We are taking forward the strengthening of Nordic defence and security of supply on many tracks. The agenda also includes current NATO and EU issues as well as support for Ukraine and the US relationship. In connection with the meeting, we will also get to know the conditions of northern defence and Finnish conscript training in Lapland", states Defence Minister Häkkänen.
The fourth meeting of Nordic defence ministers in 2025 will also focus on Nordic air force cooperation, industrial capacity and ammunition cooperation.
