Tarja Jaakkola appointed as Assistant Director of the European Defence Agency
Tarja Jaakkola, the Government Counsellor of the Material unit of the Defence Ministry has been appointed as Assistant Director Market of the European Defence Agency (EDA). Jaakkola will start her four-year post on October 1, 2011.
Jaakkola has started her carrier in the Ministry of Defence in 2004. Before that she has been working in the Defence Command and other public administration branches.
EDA aims to strengthen the European Security and Defence Policy. Its mission is to support the Member States and the Council in their effort to improve European defence capabilities. Tarja Jaakkola`s duties will concentrate on developing defence market and cooperating with stakeholders.
