Defence Forces to buy maintenance services for APAJA system

The Defence Forces’ Logistics Command has received a mandate from Minister of Defence Jussi Niinistö to procure maintenance services and new equipment from Finnish Technosmart Oy for an automatic fuel distribution system (APAJA).

The APAJA system will manage and follow up on the land transport fuel distribution and consumption in the Defence Forces. The contract will guarantee the maintenance and development of the system's software as well as the maintenance of the equipment at the fuel distribution stations over the four-year contract period. These services will be delivered to the Defence Forces over 2018-2022. The contract also includes a provision to extend the contract period twice for a two-year period.

Technosmart Oy delivered an APAJA system to the Defence Forces in 2008-2009 and was awarded with the contract to provide the maintenance services. The overall value of the procurement without value added tax is at the most EUR 11 million, which also contains a provision to procure new equipment. While the domestic employment effect of the contract is about 2 person-years it will also offer subcontractor jobs to a number of Finnish companies to provide maintenance services through Technosmart Oy.
