Minister of Defence Jussi Niinistö to visit the Åland Islands

Minister of Defence Jussi Niinistö will visit the Åland Islands on 11 to 12 September 2018. The Government of Åland will host the visit,

Minister Niinistö and the Government of Åland are to discuss the security situation in the Baltic Sea, Nordic defence cooperation, cooperation between the Government of Åland and the defence administration as well as cooperation between civilian and military authorities.

During the visit, Minister Niinistö will familiarise himself with the activities of the Åland Coast Guard Station in Mariehamn.
