Minister of Defence to visit Brussels and Munich

Minister of Defence Jussi Niinistö will attend a working dinner as part a meeting of NATO Ministers of Defence in Brussels on 14 February 2018.

The topic of the working dinner will include deepening cooperation between the EU and NATO in a changing security environment. Ministers will also address military mobility. Finland will attend the dinner together with Sweden and the EU.

After Brussels Minister Niinistö will pay a visit to Munich where he will attend the high-level, international Munich Security Conference (MSC). Over the past five decades, the MSC has become the major global forum for the discussion of security policy, and also this year it brings together more than 450 senior decision-makers from around the world. The participants are heads-of-state, ministers, leading personalities of international and non-governmental organizations, as well as high ranking representatives of industry, media, academia, and civil society.

In addition to conducting bilateral ministerial meetings with the defence ministers of Sweden, France, the Netherlands, Norway and Lithuania. Minister Niinistö will also attend a working lunch, hosted by German Minister of Defence.
