Permanent Secretary Juusti to visit South Korea and the United States
Permanent Secretary Jukka Juusti from the Ministry of Defence will make a working visit to Seoul, South Korea, on 4 to 6 September 2019. He will participate in the high-level Seoul Defense Dialogue (SDD) conference and meet Vice Defense Minister Park Jae-min. The two ministers will discuss materiel cooperation, the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and possible cooperation in training and exercises.From South Korea Permanent Secretary Juusti will continue to Washington in the United States where, on 9 September, he will participate in a meeting for Nordic permanent secretaries. They will discuss, among other things, international Nordic cooperation and defence policy themes in Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
On Tuesday 10 September, the permanent secretaries will attend the joint Nordic-Baltic-US (NBUS) meeting that is organised for representatives from the Nordic countries, the Baltic countries and the United States.. Hosted by Under Secretary of Defense for Policy John Rood, the meeting will address transatlantic cooperation.
