Suspected violation of Finnish airspace in the Gulf of Finland

Two Russian MiG-31 fighter aircraft are suspected of violating Finland’s airspace off the coast of the Gulf of Finland near the city of Porvoo on the morning of 18 August 2022. In connection with the suspected violation, the Air Force conducted an operative identification flight.

The Border Guard has opened an investigation into the matter and will provide more information once the investigation is complete.
