Ministry of Defence decided on entering framework agreement for protective vests

Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen authorised the Defence Forces, on 7 December 2023, to enter a framework agreement with two domestic suppliers on ballistic protective vests and their development.   


The agreement covers the need for protective vests in all Services of the Defence Forces for the next seven years. The contractors are C.P.E. Production Oy and Sioen Ballistics Oy. The total value of the framework agreement, excluding value added tax, during the contract period is estimated at EUR 74 million. The employment impact of the production of protective vests is approximately 15 person-years per supplier.
